We are in a new year in which we will have ample opportunity to emanate the love and power of God in our lives.

This is clearly not something we can do alone. It’s time to pray …

Heavenly Father, we ask today that we may “know (understand completely) the love of Christ (His love for You, for us individually, and for others also) which passeth knowledge (surpasses, goes beyond natural understanding and reasoning. A knowledge we will only receive by your Holy Spirit working in us through your Word and in the classroom of life) that we might be filled with all the fullness of You. We pray Lord that you make us to increase and abound in love one towards another, and towards all men. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”

Did you know that our Heavenly Father uses the exercise of love as the means to develop likeness to Christ in us, as His children?

Truthfully … if we seek to live in the Spirit, then we are also going to have to walk in the Spirit; if it is our desire to emanate Christ in our lives.

Walking in the Spirit means following the direction and guidance of the Spirit. In Jesus our Lord, we see perfect love. In our own lives we see love coming unto perfection.

What did Jesus tell us … “A new commandment I give unto you. That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” Jn.13:34

Did Jesus tell us to love like the world? No! He clearly said, as I have loved you, love one another. In other words, follow my example. Clearly, there is a difference.
